Troubles with studio time

For two straight weeks now my instructor has cancelled our scheduled recording sessions for personal matters. While I obviously understand, it is frustrating that we have been unable to meet. I have continued my recording and editing at home however it has restrained me from working on the songs that are on his computer as well as pressing questions I am eager to find the answers to. In my last blog entry I discussed running my fender through the amp and into the motu.  When I finally got this to work the sound quality was very poor. The sound out of the amp was clean and sounded normal yet the recorded sound was not.  Since I'm not an expert yet I will look to ask my instructor the next time we meet as to why the quality is so poor. I will most likely bring in my laptop as well.
